Why did you start this blog?
So whenever I wear an outfit I usually get a compliment followed by one of these two questions, Where did you get that? or, Did you make that? I started this blog to simply document what I wear and to finally answer some of these questions. Where I got my clothing, and the clothing I made myself. Every once in a while, I will wear something a little over the top but for the most part I wear looks that readers can recreate from their own closet.
Where do you get the items you tag Nahla Franklin?
The items tagged Nahla Franklin are made by me. Nahla Franklin is like an alter ego, as bland as that sounds. My creative mind is called Nahla Franklin. My sister actually motivated me to start sewing. After convincing me for months, I finally got my first sewing machine in the summer of 2010 and went to sewing. One thing I like about making my own clothing is that, whenever I see someone wearing something I absolutely like or whenever I see an item I really want but I know my wallet wouldn't appreciate the price tag, I simply switch my Nahla Franklin brain on and make it.
What camera do you use?
I use a canon 60D with a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens or EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III telephoto zoom lens. I barely use the 75-300 mm lens. Most of the pictures you see are by the 18-55 mm lens.
Who takes your pictures?
It depends. I use a tripod and remote for some of them, but sometimes get a helping hand.
Who are your favorite designers?
I like quiet a few designers but if I had to pick it would be Givenchy, Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Zac Posen, and  Alexander Wang. These are designers that I have admired growing up. My goal is to own at least one item by each one of them. So far I have Jean Paul Gaultier and Zac Posen covered.
Where do you shop?
I am always looking for new places to shop. I like when I discover a new store that fits my style. For the most part I shop at zara, h&m, express, forever21, endless.com, steve madden, aldos, asos, and newyork and company. These are my go to places. There are a few other ones as well although I don't shop frequently in those places.
What did you study in school?
I studied psychology, Women's and gender study, and Africana study for undergrad then got my masters in business administration/Healthcare administration after college. I am currently in school again working towards an epidemiology degree. And I say working towards because I'm still not sure if I want to continue onto a PhD program or just be done after the masters.
What do you do for a living?
I work as an injury prevention educator at a level 1 trauma hospital.  What this means is I develop and implement injury prevention programs. I also write grants, do some data analysis and all the other perks my job brings to me and I love it all.
