Checkered Done Right

IMG_3634 I have been searching high and low for anything, just any clothing item with such a print after seeing it during fashion week. Thanks to New York and Company, it happened. When I was growing up and by that I mean in high school and college, I use to think of New York and Company for the elderly. When I entered the corperate world after graduating college in 2009, I decided to give it a try for work clothing. I was still a skeptic but I still went every once in a while for button downs and slacks. The past two or three years have been different. They have really stepped it up. I now find modern and in fashion pieces, such as the ones you will find at an h&m or perhaps and Zara and I am loving it.

  1. I thought for sure this was one of your skirts! Very surprised it isn't. Was planning to attempt to sew one of your pleated skirts using taffeta (so far, I've only learnt to sew straight lines and sew cosmetic bags and zippered pouches using Ankara fabric) but I really want to learn to make skirts so I can sell them too.
Didn't have the colored thread to match the taffeta I purchased so gotta run to the store next week but can't wait to see if my skirt looks anything like yours :D
