I have always wanted a tutu/tulle skirt. I mean what girl hasn't? For the past year, I have been searching everywhere but the ones I find are ridiculously priced. The goal was to get one below $100. I finally found a grey one on asos for $98 so I stalked it until it was available in my size. The skirt arrived and it was everything I had in mind. As I was standing in the mirror admiring it, I thought to myself, you can totally make this. I have worked with tulle before and I don't necessarily find it easy to work with, so the thought of working with dozens of yards of tulle for a skirt just scared me a bit. I returned the asos one the next day because the more I looked at it the more I wanted to keep it and challenged myself to making one on my own. This is what I came up with and I couldn't be pleased with the results.
Wore this on Sunday to church, in keeping with the holiday spirit. After church, I spent the afternoon with my sisters Ade and Mimi. We had lunch and did some shopping. We barely get to hang out together, so I always like the times we share together. Its the little moments that count. This holidays, remember to spend as much time as you can with family and loved ones.

  6. I've been looking for a skirt like this ever since I fell in love with a $188 one from Anthropologie! But I can't sew, so I ordered one for $12 on Ebay. It won't be nearly as poofy as this one or as the Anthropologie one, or as the Shabby Apple one. And it won't have the pretty ribbon along the waistline. But hopefully it turns out to be a good investment.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

    1. Thanks. It will be easier to post a tutorial with images. I plan on making it in another color so I will remember to take pictures of the steps when I do. Its quiet easy, all you need is a sewing maching and losts of patience.
