Hi-Lo

Monday, November 21, 2011

I just realized its been a week since I last posted. Between school and work I haven't had much time for anything else. I have pretty much been in dress pants, button up shirts, blazers, and peacoats all week. I finally got around to wearing something blog worthy on Friday but wasn't able to take pics because its getting darker out earlier now. My camera is not good enough to take pics during the day let alone in the dark. (Still working on getting a better camera)
I wore this outfit on Saturday. The plan was to go to the H&M/Versace sale. I had no plans on buying anything but Michael wanted something from the mens collection. We finally got ready to leave at 1pm and if I have learned anything from this designer collaborations is that you have to be in line before the store opens. I usually went hours after and still got stuff to buy but that wasn't the case for the Missoni/Target collection. I went during my lunch break and found nothing left. Wanted to get the bicycle and the block heel shoes but ended up with none. So at 1pm we decided not to go afterall, it was just too late to drive out to Newbury St in Boston which is about an hour away. The only H&M in our state that will be carrying the collection. Newbury street is our Rodeo drive, lined up with  high end stores like Chanel to affordable ones like Forever21.

We saved ourselves the drama and went to a close by mall instead. But before we did I stopped by a Target close to the mall and guess what I found in the clearance section? Yes the block heel Missoni I wanted on sale in clearance and in my size. I couldn't contain my excitement. There were a few marks on the front but nothing tide to go or suede cleaner can't take care of. We then went to bakers and express where I picked up the most cozy/comfortable chunky sweater.

Asymmetrical skirt: TJ Maxx
Chiffon button up shirt: Forever21
Oxford wedges: Urbanog
Belt: Thrifted
Faux Fur Stole: New York and Company
Bag: Gift (from mom in 2007 very old I use to carry my books in at college)

I am in the process of making a hi-lo/asymmetrical skirt with a tribal print fabric but it still didn't stop me from buying this one I saw at TJ Maxx. I styled it three ways, with a blazer and with a chunky sweater but in the end I went with this look. I ended up adding a little black military style peacoat later on because it started getting cold.
