Ankara in Fashion

One of the main reasons why I started making my own clothing is so I can make clothing out of ankara fabric. I am African, Ghanaian to be specific, home of ankara fabric. My favorite brand is woodin. They have very intricate designs and print and a little on the pricey side. But having a friend that works for the company means I get ankara at a discounted price. Anytime there is a traditional event, ankara clothing is the way to go. Everyone wears ankara in different prints, colors, and styles. To have a simple dress made with ankara fabric can cost anywhere from $100 to $300. So I decided to start making them for my sisters and mom so we don't have to keep having them made anytime we have an event. Below are a few of my inspirations by Vlisco, which is also another brand.
