Good Bye Summer

Thursday, September 22, 2011

Today is officially last day of summer. So long summer 2011. You have been good to me. So many memories. The pictures below are from one of my memories. My friends and I made an impromptu trip to DC to watch the cherry blossom parade. We literally drove 7 hours into DC, watched the parade and drove right back. Half way driving back we looked like zombies on wheels due to lack of rest. We got into DC at midnight before the parade, stayed in a nearby hotel where we chitchatted and went to bed around 3am. The following morning we walked about 4 miles from the hotel to the parade in mid 50's weather, watched the parade and took a little stroll through DC. Union Station for lunch, the White House, then decided to head to  Georgetown bakery for dessert well the super super long line scared us. There must have been like 500 people in line waiting for cupcakes so we made the dreaded 7 hours drive back to Boston, after we stopped by Target for some road snacks. I made this floral print dress because the cherry blossom parade is like one of the major events that introduces spring, so what better place to wear a colorful floral print dress.
